There are two baseball diamonds and two soccer fields, with four more baseball fields and the football stadium adjacent on the High School grounds. There are a round of exercise machines along a nice footpath - but don't ride your bicycle on the path, it's banned! (the reason I deducted a point, actually). There's also a nice trail to the river, with several spots to safely fish along the mostly-overgrown bank. All in all a nice place to dawdle or play games or fish or just sit and think.
This park is tucked away behind the High School; in fact, the address Google lists on Vail Street is actually the High School; if you go there you'll have to walk maybe 150 feet to the park itself. Whereas if you drive around to Mode Lane (see map) you'll be able to pull up in your vehicle and park there.
Well, it's no Denver Colorado, but La Grange does have it's share of sweet little public parks that are all pleasant for an evening relaxing after a hot day in the sun. Or for spending a hot day in the sun, for that matter.
We love this park! Great playground, picnic tables, and a nice trail down to the river. There's also several sports fields and courts.

Could use more trees for shade, or shade structures over the playground. In the summer the playground is too hot to use. But during the rest of the year, it's nice.
